I’ve always dreaded answering the question “Where are you from?”

Born in Kerala, India and spending my formative years in Dubai, UAE meant I oscillated between both cultures, but belonged to neither — a.k.a a Third Culture Kid (TCK). With roots in both India and the United Arab Emirates, existing between the cracks in a cultural manner has given me a new perspective, one that I’ve only come to realize in recent years.

The Complexities of a Multicultural Chameleon is the culmination and exploration of personal connections that I, as a TCK, have come to identify in relation to a variety of audiences. Recognizing these different audiences allows me to create a personal landscape in a visual sense.

With this new identity on the horizon, visualizing the connecting threads celebrates a new culture and all its variations without borders.
